Privacy Policy

Effective 8 June 2026 · Updated 2 August 2026

ZPTH is built so that there is nothing to collect. It runs entirely on your device. We do not have servers, we do not have accounts, and we never see anything you point your camera at.

The short version

ZPTH collects no personal data. None. No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, no network calls. Nothing you capture leaves your device unless you save it to your own Photos library, or you switch on NDI to send the preview to your own computer on your own local network.

Data collection

Data Not Collected. NDI streams the live camera view only over your local network to NDI receivers you control. Nothing is sent to ZPTH servers or any third party, and nothing is transmitted over the internet.

Camera

ZPTH uses your iPhone's camera — the TrueDepth and LiDAR depth sensors and the colour camera — for one reason: to read depth and draw it on screen in real time. Camera frames are processed live, in memory, on the device, and are discarded immediately. They are never recorded, stored, or transmitted by us.

Microphone (optional)

The audio-reactive Pulsar and Cymatic modes can use your device's microphone so the visuals move in time with live sound. You must explicitly turn this on, and iOS asks for microphone permission the first time you do. When enabled, audio is analysed in real time entirely on your device to drive the visuals — it is never recorded, saved, or transmitted, and no audio is included in the photos or videos you capture. The feature stays off until you enable it, and turning the switch off stops all microphone use immediately.

Photos

When you tap the shutter or record a video, ZPTH saves that single photo or video to your own Photos library, using the system "Add to Photos" permission. That file lives in your library, on your device, under your control. ZPTH does not read, browse, upload, or analyse the rest of your photo library — the permission we request is add-only.

Settings → Recordings moves clips that an older build left inside the app's own storage into your Photos library, then deletes the local copy. No new permission, no network.

NDI & local network (optional)

ZPTH includes an optional NDI® video output that you must explicitly turn on. When enabled, ZPTH broadcasts your live camera view as an NDI source on your local network (over Wi-Fi or a wired USB connection) so that NDI-compatible software on the same network — such as OBS or TouchDesigner — can receive it. An optional second source broadcasts the raw camera alongside your effect.

This video stream stays on your local network: it is never sent to ZPTH's servers, to us, or to any third party over the internet, and we do not record or store it. The feature requires Local Network access, which iOS asks you to grant the first time you enable it, and it remains off until you turn it on. Turning the switch off, leaving the app, locking your device, entering the Create editor, or any interruption (such as a phone call) immediately stops the broadcast.

On-device processing

Every effect, every render, and every capture happens locally using your device's camera, GPU and Neural Engine. No image, depth map, video, or usage data is ever sent off the device.

What we do not do

In-app purchase

ZPTH offers a single optional in-app purchase, ZPTH Pro. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. Apple processes the transaction; ZPTH only receives Apple's signed confirmation that the purchase is valid. We never see your payment details. Apple's handling of that transaction is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Children

ZPTH does not collect any data from anyone, including children, and contains no ads, no chat, and no external links to user-generated content.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
